Prince Harry Accused Of ‘Wooing’ Uncle Over ‘Money’

All eyes have been on Prince Harry after his shocking return to the UK after six years away. Amid his return, Prince Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, released his book, “Swan Song,” which shares never-before-heard stories about Princess Diana.

The book also includes shocking claims about the alleged mistreatment she suffered at the hands of then Prince Charles.

Spencer’s book came out exactly a year before the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana‘s death. While Buckingham Palace has released a statement about the claims, neither Prince Harry nor Prince William has officially commented.

A source, however, has recently claimed that Prince Harry is actually “wooing” his uncle and praising the book about his mother in hopes of getting him to join him for an upcoming documentary about Princess Diana.

“There is no denying [Spencer] is a big name, and he will give the documentary credibility. So [the Sussexes] need to woo him and get him onside,” royal reporter Tom Sykes told Page Six. “What Harry and Meghan are actually doing back in the UK is finally revealed — they are making a Diana film, and Spencer is likely being lined up as its star.”

As The Blast previously reported, a source said Prince Harry was looking to make a documentary about Princess Diana. To prepare, the source claimed the 42-year-old had been connecting with several family members and friends in the UK to get them on board.

While Prince Harry hasn’t released an official statement about the book, Spencer spoke with the media ahead of the release and said the Duke was “completely fine about it.”

According to Sykes, Spencer’s comment about Prince Harry means that the Duke “and Meghan are behind it.”

Sykes also said that finances could be another reason why Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly fans of Spencer’s book.

“Money, rather than any deep emotional bond, is, I suspect, why Harry appears so close to the Spencer side of the family right now,” he said.

King Charles Claps Back At Claims In Spencer’s Book

According to The Blast, Spencer wrote his book about Diana to “tell the truth” about her life from her brother’s perspective. “As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana’s behalf and do so in an openly positive way,” he said.

Spencer made bombshell claims in his book, including that then Prince Charles said the world would “forget” about Diana soon after her death. He also claimed that she was subject to alleged mistreatment.

King Charles and the Buckingham Palace responded to the negative claims about the Royal Family, saying, “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and color memory in ways others do not recognize, even many years after such a loss.”

Drama Surrounding The Book

The King wasn’t the only public figure who had to release a statement about Spencer’s book. Piers Morgan slammed Spencer on an episode of his show, “Uncensored,” and threatened to take legal action over a lie written about him.

In the book, Spencer claimed that Morgan published invasive photos of Princess Diana in the early ’90s. “I come across in the most despicable manner imaginable. There’s just one problem. It’s all bullsh-t and very, very easy bullsh-t for me to prove it,” Morgan said.

“The photographs which he says that I published were printed by the Sunday Mirror on November 7, 1993. I joined the Daily Mirror in October in 1995,” he continued. “In fact, at the time of the gym pictures, I was doing a showbiz column on the Mirror’s arch-rival, The Sun. About as far removed from responsibility for the Mirror scoop as I could possibly have been.”

Spencer Apologized, But More Drama Could Follow

While Spencer apologized for the error in his book, Morgan still threatened legal action against him and his publisher, adding that he’d like “the complete lie that you’ve published about me” removed entirely. Morgan also asked Spencer to donate to the King’s Trust “for the damage that you’ve caused.”

So, what could happen to the book? Well, the publisher could cease printing new editions until corrections are made and also edit digital versions. Should Morgan follow through with a lawsuit, the publisher could also reach a settlement.
