Fans were expecting a teaser-like glimpse from “Raaka”, but the team had something else in store. On the occasion of director Atlee’s birthday, the makers released a video announcing a Guinness World Record achieved by the film.
According to the team, “Raaka” has achieved a landmark feat in cinematic technology by earning a place in the Guinness World Records for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time.” The record was achieved by capturing 37 performers simultaneously in real time.
The record was achieved in February 2026 and was officially certified on September 15, 2026. The Guinness World Records certificate was presented to lead actor Allu Arjun and director V. Arunkumar by Senior Adjudicator Swapnil Dangrikar at a ceremony attended by the film’s key cast and crew.
However, this was not the update fans had been waiting for.
After months of hype, fans were expecting a glimpse that would offer a look into the world, characters or content of “Raaka”. Instead, the video focuses almost entirely on the motion-capture process, showing performers carrying out action sequences while wearing motion-capture suits.
The technical achievement may be significant for the makers, but it has hardly generated excitement among fans, many of whom may not even understand the significance of a motion-capture record. The video offers virtually nothing about the film itself.
As a result, the much-hyped update has left a section of fans disappointed. “Raaka” is directed by Atlee and stars Allu Arjun in the lead role, with Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
