The makers of the sci-fi actioner Raaka are moving ahead with a major new schedule in September, despite a possible delay caused by Rashmika Mandanna’s hip injury during dance rehearsals for the Atlee-directed film.
The upcoming schedule is expected to feature high-octane action sequences involving Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun, along with Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi.
According to a source close to the production, Allu Arjun will reportedly be seen in a triple role in Raaka. One of the characters is said to be a divine warrior, while another will have negative shades. Details about the third role are being kept under wraps.
The three characters are expected to appear across different timelines and in distinct avatars.
Deepika Padukone, who has reportedly completed her portions, is said to play a pregnant woman in a Puranic-Vedic era. Rashmika’s character will reportedly serve as her protector and play a crucial role in her fight for survival.
Janhvi Kapoor is said to be playing a tribal girl, while Aishwarya Lekshmi’s character will reportedly have grey shades.
The film is expected to move across three timelines and feature wild beasts, exotic creatures and new species as part of its expansive sci-fi world.
A massive set is currently being constructed at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad for the September schedule.
The makers are reportedly planning to shoot the film’s interval block during this schedule, with Allu Arjun taking part in elaborate and large-scale action sequences.
With multiple timelines, unusual characters and extensive action, Raaka is shaping up to be one of Atlee’s most ambitious projects yet.
