Ravi Teja Pay Cheque Jumps to Rs 35 Crore?

If reliable sources are to be believed, seasoned actor Ravi Teja has reportedly increased his remuneration and is now looking to pocket a hefty sum. “His revised remuneration of Rs 35 crore, up from Rs 20 crore, is due to his expanding market after the blockbuster success of ‘Irumudi’,” says a source.

The actor had been going through a lean phase with films such as ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ and ‘Eagle’ failing to make the desired impact. However, ‘Irumudi’ appears to have given him the much-needed comeback and helped him regain his position at the box office.

In fact, Ravi Teja is reportedly set to take home around Rs 50 crore, including a share of the profits and a portion of the Nizam collections of ‘Irumudi’. The actor is said to have opted for a profit-sharing arrangement instead of a conventional remuneration. “He is laughing all the way to the bank, thanks to his decision to take a share. He probably had faith in the father-daughter dark thriller, and the gamble has finally paid off,” the source points out.

However, trade observers feel Ravi Teja now needs to be more selective about his scripts rather than signing films merely to stay busy. Young actors such as Naveen Polishetty, Vishwak Sen and others are increasingly taking up comedy-driven roles, making it important for Ravi Teja to explore intense subjects that suit his age and established fan following.

The actor is also set to collaborate with director Vivek Athreya on a horror film, which is expected to be a new genre for the ‘Kick’ star. With his market seemingly on the upswing, Ravi Teja will need to choose his subsequent projects carefully, the source concludes.
