They say that in this life there are three guarantees: death, taxes, and Amazon renewing its most popular dadcore series of the moment. And in time-honoured tradition, just as another kick-ass season of Prime Video’s Lee Child adaptation Reacher has, well, reached its conclusion, THR has confirmed that another Reacher round is already on its way. Yes, in addition to the already-shooting Reacher Season 5, Alan Ritchson’s former military man and forever absolute unit Jack Reacher has only gone and landed himself a well-earned early Season 6 renewal.
The fourth season of Reacher, which wrapped less than a fortnight ago and adapted Lee Child’s 2009 Reacher novel Gone Tomorrow, reportedly racked up a not-too-shabby 66 million views inside its first month on Prime Video — and that’s with the latest season airing simultaneously alongside Maria Sten led spin-off show Neagley. Reacher Season 5, which is currently in production out in Toronto, is set to adapt Make Me, the 20th — and, arguably, most brutal — book in Child’s series, following our taciturn tank of a hero as he uncovers a chilling deep-web conspiracy in an isolated midwestern town. As for where Season 6 may be heading, Amazon is taking its cues from Reacher himself for now and is saying nothing.
One book we know Reacher Season 6 definitely won’t be adapting is Alan Ritchson’s personal fave, 1998’s Die Trying, in which Jack Reacher carves a bloody path through a white supremacist militia camp. “My favorite book,” said Ritchson of Lee Child’s sophomore Reacher outing, responding to a fan post on Threads. “Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.” Well, with Season 5 shooting ahead of presumably a sometime-2027 release, and Season 6 now confirmed and likely to follow the year after, maybe come 2029 Ritchson will get his Reacher wish. Until then, we’re saying nothing….
