Rukmini Vasanth went all out to promote Yash’s Toxic. She participated in almost all the major promotional events held in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
During the promotions, she spoke highly of her experience and said she had a great time working on the film. She also expressed hope that her role would receive a tremendous response.
However, following the film’s release, Rukmini is now facing trolling over her choice of role.
The main criticism is that her character has very limited screen time.
She enters only in the second half, gets a couple of scenes with Yash and soon becomes the mother of a boy. After that, her character receives very little focus.
Even within her limited screen time, she gets a romantic sequence with Yash, which has also drawn criticism from some fans.
They feel she should not have chosen such a poorly written character, especially one that offers her so little scope as a performer.
Some fans are now advising Rukmini to be more selective while choosing future projects and to focus on stronger, more substantial roles.
After Kantara: Chapter 1, there were expectations that she would follow it up with another major pan-Indian success. Instead, Toxic has left her facing criticism and trolling over the limited impact of her character.
