SNL UK Season 2 Confirms Jeff Goldblum As Host For Opening Ep

What a joy it turned out to be when Saturday Night Live UK proved to actually be good. Great, even, already boasting a handful of sketches for the ages. And after a successful Season 1, with an extended run of episodes, the live comedy show is gearing up for Season 2 – hopefully set to bring even more bangers, now that its cast and writers know what connected first time around. And to set things off with a bang, they’ve found a host who should be game to get stuck into the usual SNL madness.

Taking the reins on the first show of Season 2 will be none other than Jurassic Park legend Jeff Goldblum – who’ll be given the usual duties of delivering an opening monologue (we’re already expecting some jazz riffing), and joining the cast (all of whom are returning from Season 1) in several sketches on the night. Also, for lovers of great tunes, Dunboyne Diana herself CMAT has been confirmed as the musical guest for the night. (Yup CMAT?) The first season of SNL UK also kicked off with a big-name American guest host in the form of Tina Fey – and saw the likes of Jamie Dornan, Nicola Coughlan, Ncuti Gatwa, and Riz Ahmed sign up for subsequent episodes.

There isn’t long to wait until SNL UK returns – the new season begins on Saturday (duh) 12 September. The season is currently set to consist of 12 episodes, with the first block of three airing through September. Can it prove even funnier than the first time around? Here’s hoping Jeff Goldblum, uh, finds a way.
