Sophie Cunningham Shares WNBA Game Day Beauty Routine

Sophie Cunningham gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at how she gets ready before hitting the basketball court!

The 30-year-old WNBA star recently shared a candid “Get Ready With Me” (GRWM) video from New York, taking followers through her game day beauty routine before Fever faced Liberty.

Cunningham, who plays for the Indiana Fever, kept things simple, explaining that she doesn’t like wearing too much makeup during games because of her sensitive skin.

“I try not to play with too much makeup on because I have very sensitive skin,” she explained. “I feel like the more I put on, I’ll just break out.”

The athlete started her routine with a skin tint, admitting that she isn’t exactly a professional when it comes to makeup.

“I’m no professional when it comes to this, so don’t even come for me,” she joked.

From there, Cunningham added blush to her cheeks and nose, noting that she likes using a clay-based formula because it stays put throughout the game.

“I sweat a ton and it doesn’t come off,” Cunningham explained. “So, looks good. I love it.”

Unlike her routine for a night out, the guard said she keeps her game day makeup minimal, noting that she would typically use more foundation and bronzer for other occasions.

Cunningham then reached for her concealer, applying it under her eyes to cover her dark circles. She also wasn’t afraid to poke fun at herself along the way.

While applying makeup around her forehead, the basketball star jokingly drew attention to the area, saying she had a “massive forehead” and needed to “spruce that puppy up.” Cunningham then quipped that she needed “all the help” she could get.

“Look how big my forehead looks,” she joked. “Yeah, it’s big no matter the angle.”

Cunningham then moved on to mascara, revealing that she had already been wearing some from a previous game.

“We’ve been having so many games back to back,” she said, “And so I have like mascara on from like a day ago from our game.”

Cunningham finished off her glam with a lip tint and lip liner, explaining that she likes adding a little more color for her walk-in outfits. She also used a lip-plumping product to add some gloss before moving on to her hair.

Adding A Few Unusual Shortcuts

When it came to her hair, Cunningham reached for dry shampoo and admitted she needed plenty of it. After accidentally creating a gray-looking spot, the athlete joked that she now had to cover her entire head.

“Now I gotta do my whole head because I don’t want a gray spot,” she said.

Cunningham also explained that her locks were darker than usual, partly because she hadn’t had much time in the sun due to her busy schedule. The WNBA star added that she sometimes uses a volumizing product to give her curls some extra texture and “oomph.”

After working through her makeup and hair, Cunningham finally revealed the finished look.

“This is the final look,” she stated before adding, “Cute!”
