Spotlight: Phoebe Bridgers ‘Lost Weekend’ NZ Listening Parties

A songwriting icon of our era, Phoebe Bridgers has been fairly quiet on the release front since her massively influential late ’10s run. Apart from her 2020 solo album Punisher, the Grammy-winning California artist’s only long player this decade so far was The Record as part of Boygenius, her super-trio with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. Which is why news of Bridgers’ forthcoming third solo album Lost Weekend has sparked so much commotion, finally out in full this Friday via Dead Oceans.

Fans throughout Aotearoa will be converging at special Lost Weekend Listening Parties, happening at independent retail champions Real Groovy in Tāmaki Makaurau, Penny Lane in Ōtautahi, Relics in Ōtepoti and Slow Boat in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. If you move very fast to snag a ticket, you can also head along that night to Lost Weekend Planetarium Experiences at Te Whatu Stardome (sold out) and Tūhura Planetarium (tickets nearly all gone). Support your friendly local record store and experience Bridgers’ new masterwork free before everyone else, from 6pm this Thursday…
