You can take the man out of the Dark Side of the Force, but you can’t take the Dark Side of the Force out of the man.
Star Wars alum Hayden Christensen is ready to put the respirator and black cape back on should Lucasfilm come calling with the offer of an alleged Darth Vader solo movie.

The opportunity to attend the event with his 11-year-old daughter Briar Rose Christensen was “really special,” he added. “We’re very happy to be here and it’s a real treat to get to share this with my daughter.”
Christensen portrayed Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the latter two installments of George Lucas’s prequel trilogy, Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005).
“Getting to make Star Wars with George Lucas was an incredible experience,” he shared. “Working in Sydney, Australia, we had a really great time.”
Along with The Phantom Menace, those two movies have been positively reappraised by fans in the years following Disney’s $4.05 billion acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012.
“It’s been really heartwarming,” Christensen said of the phenomenon. “It’s been a journey getting here, but it’s been really nice to see the affection people have for those films now.”
He returned to play the galaxy’s most feared Sith Lord almost two decades later in a pair of Disney+ TV shows, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, which reunited Anakin with his old Jedi Master (Ewan McGregor) and Padawan (Rosario Dawson), respectively.
“Playing this character again has been new for me,” the actor admitted to Collider in 2022. “My overriding thought has just been that it’s Anakin underneath the mask and I know the character really well, so that aspect of it was pretty easy for me. But I just wanted to make sure that the Vader that we presented is also consistent with everything that we already know and love – the way he moves, and just his general presence. We wanted to get that right obviously.”
Christensen is set to return as Anakin/Vader in season two of Ahsoka (premiering Jan. 20, 2027).
Lucasfilm’s next Star Wars feature, the Ryan Gosling-led Star Wars: Starfighter, arrives on the big screen May 28, 2027.
