Big Bang Theory spin-off following the comic book shop owner into an apocalyptic multiverse

Love it or loathe it, The Big Bang Theory was a hugely popular comedy on both sides of the Atlantic. Since it finished in 2019, we’ve had two spin-offs: first the delightful prequel Young Sheldon, then the so-so Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, following Sheldon’s brother Georgie into family life with a woman 11 years his senior.
Those shows were set in the 1980s and 1990s, but we’re back to the present with Stuart Saves The Universe. Well, sort of. This is a rather big budget-looking affair that follows Sheldon’s Big Bang friend Stuart, a comic book lover who accidentally triggers a world-ending multiverse by breaking a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. He must then go on a quest to fix things, which is a trigger for a comic romp across alternate universes with references to films like The Matrix and post-apocalyptic shows like The Last Of Us.
Stuart receives help from his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist Bert Kibbler (Brian Posehn) and Sheldon’s nemesis Barry Kripke, all characters from The Big Bang Theory – and they won’t be the only familiar faces turning up during Stuart’s quest into the multiverse. They won’t all look the way you remember them, though…
