‘Superb’ microwave ‘better than turntable’ drops by £42 in deal beating Amazon

“Very pleased with my purchase, easy to use, looks good, does what you want it to do. The included grill facility – great.”

Shoppers looking to upgrade their microwave might be interested in this clever CASO model that’s currently £42 off in an autumn deal. The CASO MG 25 Ecostyle Ceramic Microwave & Grill is available for £119.99, reduced from £149.99, but using the code AUTUMN10 at Yimbly (an online retailer owned by this publication’s parent company Reach plc), brings it down even further to £108.

Beating the price of several retailers, including Amazon and the CASO website, while the savings are impressive, it’s the model’s design that sets it apart. Unlike a conventional microwave with a rotating glass plate, the CASO Ecostyle uses a flat ceramic cooking surface.

This means there’s no turntable taking up space or getting in the way when larger dishes need to go inside. CASO states the design offers up to 60% more usable surface area than comparable turntable models.

It also makes cleaning less fiddly, with no rotating plate to remove and wash. Customer feedback highlights that the flatbed design is proving particularly popular. The appliance combines a 900W microwave with a 1,000W quartz grill, giving shoppers the option to grill food as well as heat and cook.

There are five microwave power levels, three combination microwave-and-grill programmes and a dedicated grill function. A sliding rack also allows food to be cooked on two levels, and it has a 25-litre capacity.

CASO isn’t the only brand offering a microwave without a turntable; there’s also the Russell Hobbs Flatbed Digital Microwave. It has a smaller capacity of 23 litres and lower 800W power; however, it is cheaper – now on sale at Amazon for £99, down from £139.

Those with a higher budget might want to opt for the Panasonic 1000W Standard Flatbed Microwave. There’s also savings to be had on this 27-litre model as it’s reduced at Argos down to £179.99 from £200.

CASO customers have left feedback for the MG 25 Ecostyle Ceramic Microwave & Grill across varying retailers. One person said: “Very pleased with my purchase, easy to use, looks good, does what you want it to do. The included grill facility – great.”

A second person wrote: “We purchased this as a replacement for our previous microwave that we kept for 30 years. We wanted something simple, efficient, with a large capacity and value for money, and this is what we got!”

And a third buyer commented: “5 stars all the way. I cannot find fault with it. I think that it’s better than a turntable microwave, more usable space inside.”

Someone has left some critical feedback, sharing: “The only drawback: the timer is not easily adjustable for times less than one minute.” But another consumer simply stated: “Superb microwave and love the built-in grill. So simple to use.”
