As the evenings get darker, finding cosy lighting is often a priority for shoppers. There’s one table lamp on Amazon that’s receiving high praise.
The Hifree Smart Table Lamp is currently available from Amazon for £16.99, down from £19.99, in a limited-time deal, and one shopper said it is ‘unbelievable for the price’. Shoppers can connect this smart table lamp with Alexa or Google through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, meaning they can control the lamp’s brightness, colour, multiple modes, and lighting effects via voice commands.
There are eight different lighting scenes to choose from, along with four lighting modes, timer and schedule settings. These functions can also be controlled by touch and the Smart Life app, giving shoppers options.
Elsewhere, shoppers could snap up this Caliban XL Globe Glass Lamp in orange from Habitat, part of the Sainsbury’s Group, for £34.66, down from £52. This features a large spherical orange glass shade which diffuses ‘a gentle glow’, making it perfect for cosy evenings in.
Or at Dusk, there’s the Titan Gold Domed Table Lamp for £44 – and shoppers can currently get an extra 15% off using the code ‘EXTRA15’, bringing the price down to £37.40. This has a smooth cylindrical base and comes complete with a domed shade.

Amazon shoppers have left positive reviews for the Hifree Smart Table Lamp, however, giving it an average overall rating of 4.3 out of five stars. One said: “Gives a lovely glow when working long into the evening, and the Alexa control is a snazzy addition.”
A second person said: “Unbelievable for the price. Immediately bought another about half an hour after I’d got the first one set up. Incredibly easy to set up, and connected to Alexa itself after I’d added it to my Smart Life app, which I already had.
“Colour range is great, plenty of pre-set options, and you can set it for a night light (the initial reason I bought it for my geriatric cat who has vision trouble at night after everyone’s gone to sleep). Very smooth and sensitive touch control, and easy to cycle through options if you’re not using the app or Alexa. Every bit as good as a Philips Hue Ho and a quarter of the price.”
While a third added: “Absolutely fantastic. So, so bright. And being able to change the colour and turn it down, etc, is just brilliant. I’m so happy with these two that I’ve ordered four more for the rest of the house. It’s pretty, it’s not too big, a perfect size, and amazing for the price. Really happy.”
Others left some feedback, with one saying: “Just what I was looking for, however, the light automatically dims to its lowest setting randomly with no way to turn this feature off, so it makes it impossible to use for the intended purpose.”
Another added as part of a longer review: “One downside of this product is that the lowest brightness is still fairly bright, but other than that, it is an amazing product.”
