A huge free family fun day is being held in Nuneaton this weekend to launch a life-changing project.
It is being held in Camp Hill on Saturday (August 22) and will officially introduce locals to those behind a massive project that is set to change the face of the area.
Through the Pride in Place programme, Camp Hill was given also access to a whopping £20m funding. and it means that, for ten years, up to £2m a year can be spent on anything from local park improvements to fixing up empty buildings and high street.

A new Pride in Place Camp Hill Board, which is made up of local residents and business owners, will help determine how the £20 million investment should be spent.
The board says it is committed to ensuring local voices remain at the heart of decision-making and that funding delivers meaningful benefits for the people of Camp Hill and surrounding areas.
They have applied to extend the boundary for funding so that it can also cover Black-A-Tree, The Circle, The Ford Community Centre and Vale View.
David Porter, chair of the newly formed Pride in Place board, said “Pride in Place will make a real difference to the future wellbeing of our community.
“This event not only celebrates the launch of the programme but of all that our community has to offer going forward. It promises to be a great day out and an opportunity to let us know what you think our priorities as a board should be. “
What’s on at the family fun day
The event will run from 12noon until 4pm at The Dingle in Camp Hill and all of the activities are free.
A hot air balloon will be offering free rides and visitors can also enjoy a huge range of free activities including an inflatable assault course, surf simulator, face painting and garden games.
Traditional fairground-style favourites such as a coconut shy and tin can alley will also be hosted as well as local food outlets and ice cream.
Jodie Gosling, MP for Nuneaton and a member of the Pride in Place board , added: “This event is all about celebrating the future of Camp Hill and giving residents the opportunity to learn more about the exciting £20 million government investment in their area.
“We want everyone to come along, enjoy a fantastic day out with family and friends, and help shape the future of the community by sharing their ideas.”
