If you’re a fan of The Inbetweeners, your week is getting off to an excellent start!
After years of hints of a potential new movie, Netflix has finally confirmed that The Inbetweeners 3 is happening and it’s starting production as this story is being typed.
The Inbetweeners 3 will bring back the original cast of the much loved British sitcom. Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will all reprise their roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper for the new film.
Creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris have also returned to pen the script and are directing the film, so fans are in knowledgeable, trusted hands.
“It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans,” the pair said about the project.
The original series ran on Channel 4 from 2008 to 2010 and was followed by two movies, released in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Both of those films broke all kinds of British box office records, grossing nearly £80m at the box office combined. Fans have missed Will, Jay, Neil and Simon for over a decade now and we’re keen to see where the quartet finds themselves now.
Netflix didn’t release any plot details or even a release window, but we’re hoping it will make its appearance in 2027 perhaps. We’ll keep you updated on more news on the long-awaited movie.
