The Sinking City 2 brain puzzle involves trying to work out some radio frequencies using clues from three brains in jars.
It seems confusing at first, with some wooly clues about numbers and who’s lying or telling the truth, but once you find the little bit of truth that cuts through it all, the answer can be found fairly quickly.

The brain puzzle solution
When you arrive at the Wireless Room you’ll discover three brains in jars you can talk to, gaining you a note for each one you can then join to the Note about Wireless Rooms you got earlier in Investigations to get an upgrade point.
The clues in full are as follows:
- Testimony of Cornelius Wright – The secondary frequency is higher than the primary. The Primary? Well above 20 Hz. And whatever you do don’t believe a word Pence says.
- Testimony of Ambrose Pence – The Primary Frequency is between 10 and 20 Hz and some say it brings bad luck, especially on Fridays. the Tertiary? It’s exactly double the sum of the first two. Oh, and Dunwich… he is half-correct.
- Testimony of Silas Dunwich – Round the primary frequency to the nearest ten, cut it in half and you have got the secondary. The tertiary must be under 30 hZ. As for Wright – he’s always wrong!
It’s all a lot of very confusing info that gets in the way trying to work out what’s going on. All you actually need to are these key bits of info:
- Pence says the primary frequency is bad luck on Fridays, so 13.
- Dunwich says to ’round the primary to the nearest ten and half it’, giving you 5.
- Ambrose says the tertiary is double the sum of the first two ((13+5)x2), giving us 36
That gives you the solution code: 13, 5, 36 for the brain puzzle.
To actually solve this you then need to set the dials to each number in turn, pressing the the big central button to enter them. Each time you enter one correctly a light will turn green and you can enter the next. When all three numbers have been entered the brains will start to chant and eventually explode.
When all that’s done, a panel will pop open under the dials and you’ll get some Dream Essence upgrade points.
