Spin-off from hit divorce drama The Split, set in Manchester
Year: 2026
Certificate: 12
This spin-off from Abi Morgan’s hit drama The Split follows a new family-run firm of divorce lawyers. In Manchester, Aria Kishan (The Umbrella Academy’s Ritu Arya) is gearing up to take over when her father Dhruv (Sanjeev Bhaskar) retires. Meanwhile, her family are pushing her to marry her fiance, but is Aria ready and willing, especially given her history with the firm’s handsome new associate? Aria also has a brother and sister with their own colourful and/or messy lives and, before long, it might be older sister Maya who’ll be in need of Aria’s professional services.
As with the original, the Kishan family dynamics are laced into a divorce case of the week, opening with celebrity relationship experts played by Lenny Henry and Jane Horrocks. This will most certainly satisfy fans of the original show, with the backdrop of south Asian families adding a fresh new dimension. (Six episodes)
