Toxic North America BO Closing Collection: A Massive Disaster

Yash-led Toxic has ended its North American box-office run on a disastrous note. While the film has already suffered heavy losses in the domestic market, its overseas performance has been equally disappointing.

In the USA and Canada, the period gangster action thriller showed weak momentum from the pre-sales stage and failed to recover after release due to poor word-of-mouth.

Expectations were sky-high as Toxic marked Yash’s return after the historic success of KGF Chapter 2. However, repeated delays and underwhelming promotional material reportedly affected the film’s pre-release buzz.

The result was a modest opening day of $886K (₹8.49 crore) in North America, including $600K (₹5.75 crore) from premiere shows.

After that, the film witnessed a sharp decline and eventually closed its run below the $1.8 million mark.

According to the final collection update, Toxic grossed $1.71 million (approximately ₹16.38 crore) in North America. The USA contributed $1.14 million (₹10.92 crore), while Canada added $570K (₹5.46 crore).

Among the language versions, Hindi led the pack with $701K (₹6.72 crore), followed by Telugu with $580K (₹5.56 crore).

The Kannada version collected $380K (₹3.64 crore), while Tamil contributed $33K (₹31 lakh). The English version earned $14.5K (₹13.89 lakh), and Malayalam managed just $1.5K (₹1.44 lakh).

The film reportedly had a North American breakeven target of $6.5 million (₹62.28 crore). Against that figure, it managed only $1.71 million, covering around 26.31% of the target.

That leaves a deficit of roughly $4.79 million (₹45.9 crore), or 73.69% below the breakeven mark.

With such a steep shortfall, Toxic has emerged as a major disappointment in the North American market and a costly outing for its distributors.
