Director Trivikram Srinivas has delivered several blockbusters, including “Atharintiki Daaredi” and “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.” However, he has also faced major setbacks in his career, with “Agnyaathavaasi” being one of his biggest disasters.
The Pawan Kalyan-starrer was released in 2018 and turned out to be a massive disappointment at the box office. The film reportedly recorded extremely poor occupancy in several centres by the end of its opening day, leaving the producer with huge losses.
Recalling those difficult days, Trivikram revealed that he and the producer settled the financial matter within 48 days. He returned his remuneration to compensate for the losses.
At the time, Trivikram was constructing a large house in Jubilee Hills and was planning to move into it once construction was completed. However, the losses from “Agnyaathavaasi” became so serious that he even considered selling the under-construction house to help settle the financial burden.
“I told my wife and children that the film had flopped badly and that we might have to sell the Jubilee Hills house and continue living in the same apartment. They understood and said they were perfectly fine with the apartment they were already living in,” Trivikram recalled.
He also stressed the importance of accepting failure and discussing difficult situations openly with family members. According to him, sharing the burden with loved ones can make it easier to deal with setbacks, while refusing to acknowledge a problem can lead to further complications.
