The biggest Indian film of the year, Ramayana, has been slated for a Diwali 2026 release. Clarity is missing regarding the exact release date of the magnum opus headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi. Initially, the makers planned different release dates for the domestic and international markets. However, fans felt this wasn’t a wise decision.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers are now considering a simultaneous November 5 release in India as well as overseas. It is said that the stakeholders are content with the release schedule. Generally, Bollywood filmmakers release movies after Diwali, as people will be occupied with puja and other festivities on the festival day. There is also a widespread belief that cinema halls won’t witness good occupancy in the days before Diwali.
If the latest news turns out to be true, then the Ramayana makers will be doing something unusual by arriving well before Diwali (November 8). The immense hype around Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s film will ensure a huge opening, and if the reports are good, the film could set the box office on fire.
