Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has opened up about her decision not to have children, explaining that it is a personal choice made with the full support of her husband.
Varalaxmi, who married Mumbai-based art gallery owner Nicholai Sachdev in 2024, recently spoke about her married life and family planning in an interview.
Addressing the questions she often faces about having children, Varalaxmi made it clear that her decision is not because she cannot have children, but because she has consciously chosen not to.
Varalaxmi also explained that she believes parenting is about much more than simply giving birth. According to her, one should have the willingness and responsibility to raise a child properly before deciding to become a parent.
Varalaxmi also pointed out that she already considers Nicholai’s daughter from his first marriage as her own. She added that she shares a strong bond with their two pet dogs and jokingly said she loves them even more than she might love children.
