A viral food sensation will arrive in Coventry this month.
Bunsik, which has a strapline of ‘No. 1 Korean Street Food’ will open a store in the city centre, bringing its famous cheesy corn dogs to its new venue on the Burges. The new store will replace Chai Green which only opened last year.
The move is part of Bunsik’s expansion into the West Midlands, with another new store down the M6 in Birmingham, after proving successful elsewhere across the country.

Jae Cho, Founder of Bunsik, said: “Coventry and Birmingham are exciting milestones for Bunsik as we continue bringing Korean street food to more communities across the UK.”
The business serves fried chicken and Sushi among other traditional items, but it is best known for its Cheesy Corn Dog product which has gone viral online with diners posting clips of themselves biting into the item and producing a ‘cheese pull’ effect.
The company’s website states: “We’re the UK’s No.1 Korean Street Food brand, known for bold flavours, joyful vibes, and the iconic Korean Corn Dogs that sparked a nationwide craze.
“With 12 locations across London, Manchester, Bristol, Southampton, and Plymouth, we bring the fun and flavour of Korea’s street food scene straight to the UK high street, serving colourful, youthful dishes that are made for sharing.”
It adds: “We started in 2021, introducing London to its first-ever Korean-style Corn Dogs. From the very first queue, we knew something special had begun. For our founder Jae Cho, Bunsik is rooted in childhood memories of his mum buying him Corn Dogs at Korean markets, a simple joy he always wanted to share with the UK.
“With over 17 years of experience in Korean dining concepts, Jae set out to create something fun, accessible, and scalable. Bunsik became his way of bringing the warmth and creativity of Korean Street food to everyone.”
The new store is expected to open this month, though an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
