Bullring buzz: – major stores close for makeovers
- Two major stores in Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre have temporarily closed for significant renovations as part of an ongoing trend of retail refreshment.
- Nando’s on the lower ground floor has boarded up for a makeover, with signage promising shoppers “We’re having a glow up!” The restaurant, which opened with the Bullring in 2003, has not revealed its reopening date.
- Meanwhile, H&M Home’s upper level unit near Marks and Spencer has closed with scarlet hoarding telling shoppers “something new is coming”. Rumours suggest the space may shift from homeware to womenswear when it reopens.
- The closures follow similar moves by Claire’s Accessories, AllSaints, JD Sports and Lovisa, which all relocated to renovated units. Korean street food joint Bunsk is also set to open soon in Grand Central.
- Canadian fashion brand Garage has been signed to the shopping centre, though its exact location remains under wraps. Birmingham Hospice has opened a charity shop in Grand Central featuring designer items including Valentino shoes.
