Jeremy Allen White was unsure whether he wanted to play another real person before he took on the role of Jeff Horwitz in The Social Reckoning.

Aaron Sorkin‘s 2026 follow-up to The Social Network stars White as the Wall Street Journal reporter who works with Facebook employee Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) to blow the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

White admitted that taking on the role of Horwitz made him “nervous” after portraying Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw and Bruce Springsteen in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.

He told The Independent: “I had just finished Springsteen and I was really nervous about playing another real person, and I told [Sorkin] that immediately. I said, ‘I just don’t know if I want my next thing to be playing someone real.

“He made it very clear that this is his version of Jeff.”
