It is already known that Pavan Sadineni, the film director who gained recognition with Prema Ishq Kadhal, was arrested in connection with a woman-abuse case.
When we tried to understand the details, we were told that he allegedly sent lewd messages and indecent material to an actress who had appeared in a few films earlier and has since been more active on social media.
As reported in some channels, she is not a Malayali actress but a Telugu actress based in Hyderabad.
The bigger question, however, is why the news surfaced only now, when the arrest reportedly happened more than ten days ago.
According to sources, certain power centres and caste-based influences allegedly tried to prevent the matter from becoming public. But no issue can remain hidden forever.
The message to men in society is equally important. Assuming that a woman is available for inappropriate behaviour merely because of her dressing, social-media posts, or public conduct is both dangerous and unacceptable.
Crossing personal boundaries without first earning a woman’s trust, respect and winning her heart can have serious consequences.
According to an insider, Pavan Sadineni’s case is a reflection of precisely this attitude. Actual reasons may be revealed in due course of time.
