Nintendo kicked off its Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary celebrations in style this week, broadcasting a Direct conference dedicated exclusively to the iconic franchise. The recent Nintendo Direct conference primarily focused on the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, showcasing the new and improved visuals, camera controls, quality of life upgrades and bonus features. Nintendo also announced a November 5 release date for the game, which means we’ll have two weeks to play it before GTA 6 makes its debut.
Elsewhere, Nintendo provided a brief update about next year’s Legend of Zelda movie, before unveiling a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 console with 40th Anniversary branding. The Zelda themed console will make its debut on October 29, with pre-orders going live today… for some people, at least.
Unfortunately, however, UK fans will seemingly have to wait a little longer for pre-orders to go live.
At the time of writing, Nintendo has a listing for the Switch 2 console, but no option to actually buy the thing.
Fingers crossed this changes within the next few hours, because fans will be desperate to secure a unit before they sell out.
The bundle contains a Switch 2 console, Joy-Cons, dock and all of the cables you’ll need to get started.
The biggest difference is the actual design of the console, which features a striking black and gold-coloured dock with Triforce symbol on the front.
More patterns and symbols inspired by the Legend of Zelda series decorate the back of the system and inside the dock.
It also comes with green and gold Joy-Con 2 controllers, including special Zelda-themed straps.
Sadly, however, the console doesn’t come with a copy of Ocarina of Time Remake, which must instead be purchased separately.
Speaking of separate purchases, fans can also grab a couple of new Zelda amiibio figures, not to mention playable and electric ocarinas.
