Page Six of the New York says Jimmy Kimmel will wrap his ABC talk show in May 2027.
But ABC says that’s “speculative,” and I know what they mean. They also say “inaccurate.”
It’s hard to imagine Kimmel leaving before the November 2028 election.
Also hard to believe Disney would let it look like Trump won and they bowed to him.
For one thing, Kimmel could just bounce to YouTube or Netflix and carry on without missing a beat. Especially in Fall 2028, he will be Must See TV. His numbers would be very good.
The Post may have arrived at this idea because they know Kimmel’s contract is up in May. Or, of course, it was planted with them by someone repping Trump. But negotiations are ongoing. If Kimmel were being pushed out again, he’d tell us right now. So far, crickets.
The Post also ties their reasoning to Kimmel’s just concluded summer vacation. But he takes it every year, and his guest hosts all did very well. The summer was a success.
The new season begins tonight on ABC.
