Dress watches are back, baby. While casual sport pieces have invaded the red carpet in recent years, the 2026 Emmy Awards seem to have brought out A-listers’ dressiest selves. Precious metals and black leather straps were back on the menu while toolsy complications like chronographs were traded out for perpetual calendars and moon phases. What I enjoyed the most about this particular showing of watches at the Emmy Awards 2026 is the variety. There were plenty of dress watches, but each differentiated itself in its own way. These are my 12 favorite pieces, starting with the biggest winner of the night.
Matthew Rhys’s Hublot Classic Fusion
I’m not sure what is more surprising: people not predicting that the Welsh heartthrob would clean up at the Emmys—both his performances in Widow’s Bay and Beast In Me were 10/10—or the fact he chose to wear a bejewelled Hublot Classic Fusion on his big night. You have to respect the wrist check—the flashy and sporty Hublot is a dark horse in the dress watch category—and switching out the usual rubber strap for a black leather one was a nice touch.
