Lady Gaga has given her daughter an adorable name that is closely linked to a film that earned her an Oscar, and one of the star’s number one songs

The name of Lady Gaga’s daughter has been revealed. The global superstar’s first child was born in June this year, but her birth was not revealed until earlier this month.
The child’s birth certificate has reportedly revealed that Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta and shares her daughter with fiance Michael Polansky, named her daughter Rose Bean Polansky.
Though neither Gaga nor Michael have shared where the name came from, fans are sure the first name, Rose, is linked to the Oscar winning film A Star Is Born. The 2018 film starred Gaga in the lead role as Ally, an upcoming singer who is discovered by established singer and alcoholic Jack (Bradley Cooper).
The characters’ first meeting comes when Jack watches Ally perform a rendition of La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf in a drag club. Fans are already aware of how much the film and that moment meant to Gaga, as she got a rose tattoo down her spine to commemorate the song.
The film also means a lot as it earned Gaga her first acting Oscar nomination, as she was put up for the Best Actress award, which ultimately went to Olivia Coleman. It also earned Gaga her first Oscar win. The star one the award for Best Original Song, for the song Shallow.
Rose’s second name, Bean, is also linked to one of her mother’s achievements. It has been theorised that the unique middle name links to Carl Bean, a singer and activist whose song I Was Born This Way, inspired Gaga’s 2011 song of the same name.
The song, which featured on her second album, debuted at number one in the United States and was her third number one single. At the time, it also broke records as the most digitally downloaded track by a female artist in the first week of release, as it was downloaded 448,000 times in three days.
The music video also won two awards at the 2011 MTV music awards, for Best Female Video and Best Video with a Message, for its strong support of LGBTQIA rights.
It was first reported that Gaga and Michael had welcomed a baby in September this year, after the two parents and their child were seen in Northern California together.
Gaga had previously shared that becoming a mother was one of her life’s biggest ambitions and called it her “next starring role”. She and Michael have been together for seven years, but it was Gaga’s mother Cynthia who met him first. She is said to have told her daughter later: “I think I just met your husband”.
Michael proposed to Gag in 2024 whilst they were on a rock climbing trip together. There has been plenty of media speculation about whether they have married or not, but the two still appear to be engaged rather than wed.
