A popular beer festival is returning to Liverpool Cricket Club next month with an impressive line-up of breweries from across the country. Liverpool Cricket Club on Aigburth Road in Aigburth is best known for hosting famous events including the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, but will be bringing live music, local food favourites and beer to the venue in October.
The festival will be taking place from Thursday, October 8 to Saturday, October 10, running across five sessions. Each day will see new entertainment take place across the sessions.
Thursday evening’s entertainment is still to be announced, however, Friday night sees Decoy take to the stage with a set packed full of hits from the 1960s through to the present day. Saturday welcomes the return of Ukebox, who will be performing across both sessions. Last year, the band’s distinctive ukulele sound and mix of familiar songs proved a big hit at last year’s festival.
The festival is sponsored by Lancaster Brewery and Colbier Brew Co, with both breweries bringing seven casks each to the event. Visitors can expect up to 75 different beers at the festival as well as local artisan pie company Piesmiths making their return after popular demand.
Liverpool Cricket Club’s catering team will also be serving food favourites all day including bratwursts and loaded fries. Alongside the beer, live music and food, a fully stocked bar will offer a range of gins, spirits, wines and soft drinks.
Dan Simpson, general manager at Liverpool Cricket Club, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back for the beer festival this October.
“We put a huge amount of time and effort into putting together the beer list, carefully cherry-picking each beer for its quality and making sure there’s something fresh and exciting every time. Whether you fancy discovering a new style, trying something you’ve never had before or settling down with a tried-and-tested classic, there’s plenty to get stuck into.
“We’ve also got a fantastic range of breweries coming along, the return of Piesmiths and some brilliant music lined up.
“Ukebox were absolutely brilliant at last year’s festival. They raised the roof, and if you haven’t seen them before, they really should be heard to be believed. We’re delighted to have them back for both sessions on Saturday and are looking forward to the same again this year.”
Tickets for the two-day event start at £9, with prices higher on the door. Tickets includes entry to the chosen session, a souvenir half-pint festival glass and access to a digital festival programme with tasting notes.
