It is now official that Venkatesh and Trivikram’s “Aadarsha Kutumbam” has been postponed. The film will not arrive in theatres on October 9, producer Naga Vamsi announced at a press meet held in Hyderabad today.
Without revealing a new release date, Naga Vamsi said delays in post-production and the background score forced the team to pull the film out of the October 9 release slot. However, his explanation did not appear convincing to several journalists at the press meet.
When journalists questioned how the team failed to anticipate the delay in the background score, especially after Naga Vamsi himself tweeted on October 1 that the film would stick to its release date and dismissed the postponement rumours, he did not have a clear answer.
The obvious question was how the team realised, just five days before the scheduled release, that the film could not be completed on time. This becomes even more relevant considering that the film had already been postponed multiple times.
Naga Vamsi simply responded that this is how the Telugu film industry works.
His response also appeared at odds with the statements he often makes on social media and in YouTube interviews about Telugu cinema competing with global cinema. While he frequently speaks about the industry’s ambition to match international standards, the inability to stick to a release plan for a relatively straightforward film, without extensive VFX work, raises questions.
At the press meet, Naga Vamsi did not provide a convincing explanation for the last-minute postponement. He said the new release date would be announced only after the team gets proper confirmation on the completion of the remaining work.
