Aaron Rodgers Is Selling Off His Real Estate Empire, Including A $39.5 Million Malibu Mansion

Aaron Rodgers is preparing for the final season of one of the most lucrative careers in NFL history. Apparently, he’s also doing a little housecleaning.

The 42-year-old Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has listed his oceanfront Malibu mansion for $39.5 million. Rodgers paid $28 million for the property in late 2019, back when he was playing for the Green Bay Packers and dating former racing star Danica Patrick.

If Rodgers gets his full asking price, he will have increased the property’s value by $11.5 million, or about 41%, in seven years.

And Malibu is just one piece of a much larger real estate liquidation. As first reported by Realtor.com, Rodgers currently has three homes on the market with combined asking prices of $58.2 million.

  • Malibu, California: $39.5 million asking price. Purchased for $28 million in 2019.
  • New Jersey: $15 million asking price. Purchased for $9.5 million in 2023.
  • Hobart, Wisconsin: $3.7 million asking price. Purchased for just over $1.7 million in 2015.

Combined, Rodgers paid roughly $39.2 million for the three properties. He’s now asking $58.2 million, a difference of around $19 million.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Rodgers is sitting on $19 million in pure real estate profit. The Malibu home has reportedly undergone extensive renovations, and all three properties have generated years of property taxes, insurance and maintenance expenses. Selling commissions and other transaction costs would take another bite out of the proceeds. Still, that’s a pretty impressive portfolio.

The $28 Million Malibu Purchase

Longtime CelebrityNetWorth readers may remember this particular house. Back in December 2019, we wrote about Rodgers and Patrick acquiring the Malibu property for $28 million. The seller was British pop star Robbie Williams and his wife, Ayda Field. They had paid around $20 million for the property in 2017. Before that, it belonged to Netflix executive Ted Sarandos, who reportedly paid $19.25 million.

So the property’s recent ownership history looks something like this:

Ted Sarandos: $19.25 million → Robbie Williams: $20 million → Aaron Rodgers: $28 million → Current asking price: $39.5 million.

The property is more of a small beachfront compound than a traditional house. The 0.61-acre estate includes a three-story, four-bedroom main residence and a separate two-bedroom guest house. The main house encompasses roughly 4,625 square feet.

The home sits above the Pacific with expansive ocean views, disappearing glass walls and terraces designed around indoor-outdoor living. The renovated interior incorporates warm wood, concrete, Venetian plaster and custom finishes. There’s also a large open kitchen, multiple living areas, an expansive primary suite and a substantial home gym.

Outside you’ll find a pool and spa surrounded by landscaped gardens that descend toward the ocean, along with a beachfront sitting area, outdoor shower and direct beach access. When we covered the property in 2019, one of its coolest features was a private funicular that transported residents down the hillside toward the beach. Here’s a video tour of the property:

Rodgers Is Unloading His Football Homes, Too

The Malibu listing comes after Rodgers put two homes associated with earlier chapters of his football career on the market.

In November 2025, he listed his longtime Wisconsin estate for $3.7 million. Rodgers bought the more than five-acre property for a little over $1.7 million in 2015 while playing for Green Bay. The 10,500-square-foot stone mansion served as his primary Wisconsin residence for years.

Then came New Jersey.

Rodgers paid $9.5 million for an ultra-modern mansion near Montclair in 2023, shortly after his blockbuster trade from the Packers to the New York Jets. His Jets career famously got off to a disastrous start when he tore his Achilles just four offensive snaps into his first game with the team.

His New Jersey house, which contains eight ensuite bedrooms and more than 10,000 square feet of living space, is now asking $15 million.

A $250 Million Retirement Nest Egg

The timing makes sense.

Aaron Rodgers has a net worth of $250 million, and he has already earned more than $400 million in NFL salary during his career. His 2026 contract with Pittsburgh could pay him as much as $25 million, and Rodgers has made clear that this will be his final NFL season.

After more than two decades of organizing his life around Green Bay, New York and Pittsburgh, he soon won’t need a house strategically positioned near an NFL facility.

What is more interesting is that Malibu is going, too. Unlike Wisconsin and New Jersey, the California property isn’t an obvious relic of an old team assignment. It’s a spectacular beach house in Rodgers’ home state that he has owned for nearly seven years. Whatever Rodgers has planned for retirement, apparently a $39.5 million Malibu mansion isn’t part of it.
