A beautiful Welsh holiday park has been highlighted as the very best, and it’s perfect for your next staycation, with an indoor pool, fun-packed activities, and very own chippy

The best holiday park in Wales has been named – and it’s not Bluestone or Park Dean.

There’s nothing better than packing the car and driving down to the coast for a seaside escape, whether it’s with the family or for a quieter escape for two. And there’s one holiday park that should be top of your list, with its picture-postcard scenes of sprawling sand beaches, rolling dunes and rugged mountains.

Following new research by Which?, Darwin Escapes was named the best holiday park in Wales and one of the UK’s top-rated. From treehouses with sunken hot tubs, luxury beach huts and treetop cabins across 18 parks across the nation, the Welsh-based holiday park received a glowing 80 per cent ranking.

The comparison publication said: “With 18 parks stretching from the southern tip of Cornwall to the Lake District, Darwin Escapes has raised the bar with its outstanding accommodation. Think timber-clad lodges with expansive glass fronts and sunken outdoor hot tubs. There are even luxury beach huts and treetop cabins at some sites. The settings can be just as salubrious: one is located on the historic Blenheim Estate in Oxfordshire. Although the larger resorts host music and quiz nights, entertainment is more low-key.

“One visitor summed it up as ‘great for people who enjoy peace and quiet without loud music.’ Facilities are equally stripped back: gyms, swimming pools and spas at most. Some caravans and lodges are also available to buy as holiday homes. Verdict: Grown-up, peaceful retreats more suited to discerning adults than families.”

For those craving a coastal staycation, Darwin Escapes offers Talacre Beach Resort in North Wales, with a selection of self-catering lodges and holiday homes. Each accommodation option comes with a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan living area, and private decking, perfect for soaking up the morning sun with a cuppa or for watching the ocean sunset in the evenings.

The seaside holiday destination has everything on offer, whether you’re looking for a fun-packed family stay or a quieter retreat by the sea. There’s an indoor, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, perfect, even on those chillier days, along with an air-conditioned gym and a wide range of on-site activities to enjoy, from archery, tennis, water walkers and axe-throwing.

If you don’t fancy cooking, there’s the bistro and bar, serving up family-friendly meals, in addition to its very own fish and chip shop, with the option to enjoy it back on your decking with seaside vistas. The resort even has its own on-site shop and post office to grab all the essentials, whether it’s milk for the brew or wine for the evening.

For those looking for some entertainment, the Talacre Beach Resort has the Boardwalk Lounge, which hosts a jam-packed schedule of activities for the little ones, from scavenger hunts to dance parties. By evening, it showcases a variety of shows, karaoke nights, bingo, and quizzes, plus a dedicated games area with a large pool table and arcade games.
