A Diwali party is taking place in the centre of Birmingham and everyone is invited.

Once again, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is teaming up with Dishoom for the celebration.

BBC Asian Network is bringing the tunes to get people up and dancing.

Taking place on Monday November 2, the Festival of Light event will run from 7pm to 11.30pm at the museum in Chamberlain Square.

Tickets include a vegetarian or vegan feast and complimentary chai.

A spokesman for Dishoom said: “Join us for our biggest and brightest Birmingham Diwali party yet, on Monday 2nd November, with a glittering line-up curated by BBC Asian Network and hosted by Vallisa Chauhan.

“Tickets include a belly-filling vegetarian or vegan feast and complimentary chai, along with mehendi for all who seek it.”

Early-bird tickets cost £30, rising to £35 from October 11.

This is one of lots of Diwali events taking place across the Midlands.

The first is in Phoenix Park in Wolverhampton on October 10.

Birmingham’s big Diwali Mela is happening on Soho Road Handsworth on October 25.
