Bonfire night 2026 firework displays and events in and around Cardiff

Guy Fawkes night is back around again and there are some big displays as well as some locally arranged ones in Cardiff and surrounding areas

While half term and Halloween are still to come, you might want to think about getting your Guy Fawkes night plans in the diary, too.

November 5 this year is on a Thursday and around Cardiff there are some displays on the night. But if you can’t make that exact date, we’ve found some pre and post Bonfire Night events you can pop along to.

If fireworks and hot dogs are your thing, though, start planning now. Here’s the displays happening in and around Cardiff in autumn 2026.

Ponty Big Bang 2026

This year’s big firework display in Pontypridd’s Ynysangharad Park will have a spooky flavour this year as the bonfire event will take place on Halloween. Gates open at 4:30pm and will close at 7pm and then the fireworks will start at 7:30pm. There will be food stalls and more.

When: Saturday, October 31, from 4.30pm

Tickets: Tickets from £9 for adults, £5 for kids 3-13. There will be tickets on the door, but they are slightly more expensive. Find more information and book, here.

Lo Lounge, Cardiff Bay

Not one, but seven nights of fireworks to celebrate Guy Fawkes night down on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay. The waterside bar will have streetfood, cocktails, DJs, boardgames and loads more.

Sophiaworks, Sophia Gardens

The sell-out Bonfire Night event is actually on November 5. Gates open at 5pm and the evening will feature live music, family entertainment and street food traders on the Pavilion Lawn before the fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7pm.

Fairwater Cons, Cardiff

Bonfire, fireworks and delicious treats to eat. What more could you want from a local display? Gates open from 5pm, with the fireworks display at 6:30pm.

When: Thursday, November 5

Tickets: On the door, from £5 for under 16s, £20 for family ticket.

Barry RFC, Barry

Watch the club’s spectacular fireworks display, with hot food and refreshments, music and entertainment at the Reservoir Fields.

When: Thursday, November 5, gates from 5pm

Tickets: Kids £3, adults £5. Book them in advance, here.

Vale of Glamorgan Hotel

The Hensol hotel is bringing back its annual display, which starts at 6.30pm. VIP tickets will allow you to watch from indoors. Refreshments available and you’ll get a hot dog/burger and soft drink included in the paid for tickets.
