Reporter Grace Tobin interviews key figures in the Epstein scandal as the files release is agreed
Year: 2026
For this compelling feature-length documentary, the Australian investigative journalist Grace Tobin takes an in-depth look at Epstein’s inner circle and digs into theories around his demise, exploring how the cameras ‘magically’ malfunctioned around the time of his death in prison. To add depth and emotion to that, Tobin also talks to Mark Epstein, who has publicly stated he doesn’t believe his brother took his own life.
Diabolical: The Epstein Files was filmed around the time the files were ordered to be released, and at its emotional core are the stories of survivors who campaigned for that release to happen. Tobin speaks to Republican politicians such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a loyal Trump supporter who sided with the campaigners to support that release, and to the journalist Julie K Brown, whose investigation helped put Epstein in prison in the first place. Tobin also heads to London to speak to Emily Maitlis, who reflects on the role of her interview with Prince Andrew in the whole scandal.
The film is full of eyebrow-raising insights, conspiracies and theories about cover-ups, supported by emotional context from the survivors and all given a reassuring journalistic spine by the award-winning Tobin. (90 minutes)
