When the film ‘Irumudi’ was initially planned, the producers reportedly offered Ravi Teja a remuneration of Rs 8 crore along with the Nizam theatrical rights, valued at around Rs 7 crore.
However, Ravi Teja was apparently not keen on taking the Nizam rights and instead asked the producers for Rs 6 crore as additional remuneration.
The producers eventually managed to convince the actor to accept the Nizam rights as part of the deal. As it turns out, the decision has worked exceptionally well for Ravi Teja, with the film turning into a major box-office success.
The film has now emerged as the highest-grossing movie of Ravi Teja’s career. Interestingly, the Nizam region has already generated a share of around Rs 40 crore and is reportedly heading towards the Rs 50 crore mark.
If the film manages to achieve that milestone, Ravi Teja’s effective remuneration from the project could reach a staggering Rs 58 crore, considering the value of the Nizam rights along with his original remuneration.
However, the shocking part is that neither the producers nor Ravi Teja initially had much faith that the Nizam rights would generate such massive returns. In fact, both parties were reportedly keen on pushing the Nizam rights onto the other.
Eventually, Ravi Teja accepted the rights as part of the deal, and, as it turned out, sheer luck worked in his favour.
Amid the film’s strong theatrical run, industry circles are also discussing how the earnings from the Irumudi region alone could potentially be enough for Ravi Teja to purchase a penthouse in the Trump Towers project in Kokapet.
