Goodbye ‘Lioness,’ Taylor Sheridan Action Thriller Spin-off Shoots up Streaming Charts After New Season Debut

Taylor Sheridan is having what’s undeniably his most prolific year since he started his Western TV empire. Three new shows released this year, with several already being considered for a return, and others awaiting Paramount’s decision on an official release date. Sheridan is an unstoppable force, and the latest achievement on the streaming charts is proof that his work has taken on a life of its own. After Lioness concluded with a riveting Season 3 finale, the action thriller spin-off that’s keeping the Dutton bloodline alive has turned into a streaming hit.

Taylor Sheridan Scores Big on Streaming – Again

After its second season premiered on October 4, Sheridan’s Marshals has entered the charts again and become one of the most watched shows in the world. The Yellowstone spin-off follows Kayce Dutton – one of John Dutton’s sons – as he becomes a U.S. Marshal and protects Montana from every threat that comes its way. Luke Grimes stars as Dutton, while Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham all return to reprise their roles from the main storyline. Logan Marshall-Green, Ash Santos, and Arielle Kebbel are some of the newcomers to the Yellowstone universe. Spencer Hudnut serves as showrunner, while TV veteran Greg Yaitanes and Christopher Chulack direct some of the episodes.

In just two days, Marshals has climbed the charts to become one of the most successful shows currently streaming. According to the latest update to the rankings, the action thriller sits at No. 2 on Paramount+‘s U.S. charts, while it remains No. 7 globally. The instant success of Marshals consolidates Sheridan’s status as the king of streaming, with the producer and writer seeing several of his creations among the most-watched titles at the moment. Out of the top ten most popular shows in the United States, five were created by Sheridan: Lioness, Tulsa King, Yellowstone, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch.

Will ‘Marshals’ Return for Season 3?

Marshals first premiered on CBS and Paramount+ in March 2026, as part of Taylor Sheridan’s plans for expanding the wildly successful Yellowstone universe with more spin-offs/sequels. Despite a lukewarm reception from critics, Marshals quickly became a hit and prompted producers to greenlight a second season. What no one imagined was that it would return so quickly.

The series returned in just a few months to continue the adventures of Kayce Dutton after his former Navy SEAL partner convinced him to become an enforcer. Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, with Kayce’s son Tate being kidnapped and Cal and Belle’s fates unconfirmed. We won’t spoil what happens, but we’ll say the series wastes no time raising the stakes.

Although it’s still early to confirm whether the show will continue after Season 2, the successful premiere could be key to CBS and Paramount renewing Marshals. Taylor Sheridan’s future alongside his own creations remains uncertain, but the value of a property like Yellowstone and its spin-offs is just too significant to ignore. It could be just a matter of days until Season 3 is announced if things keep going well with those still carrying the Dutton name. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait for further news.
