MGM+ has released the official trailer for the second season of The Institute, the series adaptation of the Stephen King horror bestseller.
Published in 2019, The Institute follows Luke Ellis, a 12-year-old genius who gets kidnapped after his parents are murdered in a home invasion. He wakes up in a mysterious place called the Institute housing other kidnapped children, studying and experimenting on them for their telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
The series features Joe Freeman as Luke Ellis, Ben Barnes as Tim Jamieson, Mary Louise Parker as Ms. Sigsby, Simone Miller as Kalisha, Fionn Laird as Nicky, Arlen So as George, Robert Joy as Dr. Hendricks and Hannah Galway as Wendy.
Joining the series in the upcoming season is Game of Thrones veteran Alfie Allen who will play Nolan Reeves, an eccentric European tech billionaire and one of the Institute’s financial backers with an ambitious agenda all his own. The synopsis for season two reads:
In the wake of their climactic escape from Dennison, Luke and his friends search for a way to end the Institute for good. Meanwhile, The Director enlists a new ally, tech billionaire Nolan Reeves, to help him rebuild, and Sigsby’s life as a fugitive pushes her to seek a way back ‘in.’

The Institute season 2 premieres on November 8th on MGM+.
