Iran Claims US MQ-9 Drone Shot Down Over Strait of Hormuz as Tensions Soar

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Monday that it has shot down a US MQ-9 drone east of the Strait of Hormuz, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington. The IRGC said on Monday that its Aerospace Force used a “new advanced air defense system” to destroy the long-range unmanned aircraft.
