A Love Island star is among the celebs attending Bodycare’s return to Leicester’s Highcross.
The beauty retailer is launching its new Studio Store in the shopping centre’s lower mall, bringing together the value Bodycare is known for and a fresh experience for shoppers.
An expanded beauty department will carry the full Technic cosmetics range and K-Beauty, including viral names such as Medicube.
Visitors will also be able to browse a range of fragrances, skincare, and haircare products, as well as everyday health and household essentials.
At the centre of the new store is its Creator Studio, a free-to-use space designed with content creation in mind. Local creators, influencers, charities, schools, clubs and community groups are invited to film and collaborate there.
The launch of Bodycare’s Creator Studio is part of the company’s ambition to make its Studio Stores a place for the local community.
A team at the store will be on hand to offer free skincare advice to shoppers, with body piercing now available at the store, carried out by a medical professional.
The shop has a schedule packed with activities and entertainment to celebrate its return to Leicester, with reality TV stars among those popping in throughout the day.
Love Island’s Yasmin Hadlow, who almost made it to this year’s final with Tommy Stagg, is set to attend the opening.
TOWIE couple, Junaid Ahmed and Joe Blackman, will make an appearance alongside South London comedian, Kita Kartel.
The UK’s first female bhangra entertainment team, Eternal Taal, will be performing at 12.30pm. They have played for the Royal Family, the Spice Girls, and at Glastonbury.
Makeup artist Romana Artisty will be building an Asian party look on a model from 1.30pm, with personal stylist and colour advisor, Georgina Davies, also on site from 11am to 4pm.
The final activity of the day includes a viral glass skin and AM to PM skincare workshop, planned for 2.45pm and 3.30pm with content creator Niamh Conway.
Doors will open at 9am with a ribbon cutting and free goody bags to be handed out.
The new store marks the third opening in Bodycare’s return to Britain’s high streets, following Sheffield and Derby.
It was announced in April that the store would be making a comeback months after the retailer collapsed into administrative chaos.
CEO of Bodycare, Charles Denton, said: “The welcome we have had since bringing Bodycare back to the high street has been incredible, with such exciting momentum building towards the Leicester opening.
“This is a city with a huge sense of identity, community and creativity, and the day we have put together reflects that.
“There is live shopping, there is comedy, there is bhangra, there is makeup artistry, and there is a store full of the brands people might not expect at prices they can actually afford.”
Highcross’s centre director, Michelle Menezes, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Bodycare back to Highcross.
“In the build-up to its return, we have seen just how much Leicester truly loves this brand, thanks to its affordable health and beauty products.
“Fans of the brand will notice a new offering in its Bodycare Studio concept, made up of creator spaces and a live broadcast studio that reflect exactly where high street retail is heading and the direction of travel we are hoping to take the centre in.
“What makes this homecoming even more special is that we are welcoming back some familiar faces to the store team from Bodycare’s previous time with us.
“It is a real full circle moment for us all, and we wish them the very best success.”
