Love Island star Paige Thorne announces birth of first child and reveals sweet name

Love Island favourite Paige Thorne has announced she has become a mum for the first time after giving birth to a baby son with boxer boyfriend Drew Wedlake

Love Island star Paige Thorne has announced the birth of her baby boy with boxer boyfriend Drew Wedlake. The pair welcomed their little son to the world, with the Welsh reality TV star gushing it’s a love she never knew existed.

Paige, 29, shared the sweet news on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing snaps of the tot alongside his unique name. Paige captioned her upload: “Fateley Hayes Wedlake, we never knew a love like this existed.”

Followers quickly congratulated the star in the comments section. Among those sharing gushing words was former islander Dami Hope. He wrote: “YAAAAAY what a beautiful baby boy.”

Andrew Le Page also commented: “Congratulations.” And Danica Taylor gushed: “OMG MY GIRL IS A MUMMA. So proud of you. I literally can’t cope.”

The couple first announced their pregnancy in March, just eight months into dating and only one month after moving in together. Paige and boyfriend Drew both posted a video to Instagram at the time in which they shared the news.

In the video, Paige and Drew kissed on the beach as Paige held a baby scan. Drew also kissed Paige’s stomach. Paige captioned the video with: “Half of me & half of you. You are already loved infinitely.”

A month earlier, she revealed she had moved to Bristol to be with her man. “I have moved in to Bristol away from my family, away from my routine, away from my home life,” she wrote on social media at the time.

Paige rose to fame on Love Island in 2022. She was coupled up with Jacques O’Neil, whose ex Gemma Owen was also on the show. Viewers watched on as paradise turned into a nightmare and Jacques and Paige split whilst on the show.

Jacques later decided to walk out and Paige went on to couple up with Adam Collard, who had previously been on series four.

Paige has also dated rapper Formz, whose real name is Josh Foreman. In December 2024, she dated rugby player Brendan Owen before splitting and meeting Drew last year.

After Paige’s time on Love Island, she had initially planned to return to her role as a paramedic. She had trained to become a paramedic before joining the dating show, but claimed she was snubbed by her employers in the aftermath.

Speaking to the Not My Bagg podcast at the time, she claimed: “I was like, ‘I’ll go back to being a paramedic,’ but my job was like, ‘Don’t really want you to do that ‘cos you post pictures in bikinis.’

“I was so upset, I worked really hard to be a paramedic, it was so much training and I worked three years before that, Covid did it all and they were like, ‘Actually, thanks but no thanks’.”
