Netflix’s #1 Movie Has Viewers Ugly Crying

After serving a 10-year sentence for attempted murder, Carousel is released on parole and tracks down Anika in hopes of starting over. The two eventually develop an unlikely romance, but building a future together is anything but easy. They have to reckon with their pasts while also facing plenty of skepticism from Anika’s family. Still, they support each other as they try to prove that a person’s past does not have to define their future.

Netflix released the movie on October 2, and over the weekend, viewers took to social media to share just how emotional the film made them.

“Doing Life got me ugly crying this morning. I can’t take it,” one user on X wrote. Another shared that the movie “has me in tears man wtfffffff,” while a third said the movie “made me cry like 3x.”

And while the tears are clearly flowing, viewers are also giving the movie plenty of credit for its story.
