Nottingham Goose Fair will now open at midday on its opening day (Friday, September 25), giving fair-goers an extra four hours to enjoy the first day of the 10-day event.
The opening will see the Lord Mayor ring the bells to announce the start of the fair, which is a centuries-old tradition.
The historic fair, one of the largest and most famous in Europe, will take over Forest Recreation Ground.
With more than 350 rides and attractions, the 10-day event is expected to attract 500,000 visitors before it closes on October 4.
As well as large rides, there’s something for everyone from children’s rides and side stalls, visitors will be able to tuck into traditional fairground food, including the iconic mushy peas with mint sauce and cock-on-a-stick.
The updated Goose fair times are as follows:
- Friday, September 25 — Noon until 11pm
- Saturday, September 26 — Noon until 11pm
- Sunday, September 27 — Noon until 9pm
- Monday, September 28 — 4pm until 10.30pm
- Tuesday, September 29 — 4pm until 10.30pm
- Wednesday, September 30 — 4pm until 10.30pm
- Thursday, October 1 — 4pm until 10.30pm
- Friday, October 2 — 4pm until 11pm
- Saturday, October 3— Noon until 11pm
- Sunday, October 4 — Noon until 9pm
- There will also be SEND sessions with reduced music and lighting from 12pm to 1pm on Sundays.
