Final preparations are being put in place for Nuneaton Carnival 2026.
The much-anticipated annual event takes place this Sunday (August 16) – but organisers have said there will be some changes.
Following on from the successful change last year, the procession will not loop back to the Gala Fields, it will end in the town centre itself.

This is where all of the stalls, and the funfair will be located.
But there is a change to the route itself this year, as well as the start of the procession.
While the procession will get underway in Caldwell Road, it will start at the later time of 12.30pm.
Organisers say this is to give more time to judge all of the entrants.
Caldwell Road will be closed from 8am and Avenue Road will be closed from 12noon.
New procession route
Due to the roadworks on Justice Walk, this year’s procession will take a slightly different route.
The route
- The procession will leave Caldwell road at 12.30pm
- It will head along Avenue Road and then towards Attleborough Road.
- It will then continue along Attleborough Road, where it will stop at St Nicholas Church.
- Then, due to roadworks on Justice Walk., the procession will turn left onto Vicarage Street.
- As it makes its way past Sainsbury’s and towards the island, it will be a ‘quiet zone’ with all music turned down low for those who may find the sensory stimulation overwhelming.
- From the Town Hall island It will head onto Jubilee Way, past the junction with Queens Road.
- The procession will continue along Jubilee Way before heading to the Dandelion roundabout.
- It will then turn right, onto Powell Way and head into Abbey Street.
- Once onto Abbey Street, it will stop before heading along Abbey Street and turning left onto Harefield Road
- The procession will then end at Harefield Road
There will be rolling road closures along Attleborough Road, Vicarage Street and onto Jubilee Way as the procession makes its way along the route.
Who is taking part?
Andy Sergeant, the carnival committee chairman, has confirmed to CoventryLive that there will be nine floats, three bands, dancers from Ecuador, the American car display and the 121 Squadron pulling a cannon.
Among the attractions in the town centre itself there will be 60 stalls, live bands, a wellbeing area, fairground rides, steel bands, a food area as well as a dog show.
Once again, the car parks behind the town centre will also be closed.
