The much-awaited pre-release event of Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups took an unexpected turn in Hyderabad after parts of the sound and lighting setup reportedly collapsed amid a massive gathering of students and fans. The event, held at Malla Reddy University, witnessed a huge crowd eager to see the actor ahead of the film’s August 26 release. The incident is said to have occurred while Yash was addressing the audience. Police had reportedly asked students to move back before the event to prevent overcrowding and reduce the risk of a stampede. The expected incident has caused a major set back for the organisers of the event.
Toxic Event Mishap Leaves Students Injured
The incident occurred while Yash was on stage addressing the crowd at the Toxic pre-release celebrations. According to reports, a large sound box or floodlight structure collapsed towards students gathered near the stage area. Gulte and TV9 reported that youngsters sustained injuries, while one female student reportedly lost consciousness following the impact. Visuals on social media show injured students were immediately taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for medical attention. However, the exact number and severity of the injuries were not immediately clear.

Yash also appeared to notice the disturbance while speaking at the event. The actor paused his speech to check whether the students were safe, urged them to remain seated and be careful, and asked the organisers about the situation.
The accident caused concern among those attending the event, particularly as several students had reportedly moved closer to the stage and climbed onto structures supporting speakers and other equipment. The incident has also raised questions about crowd management and safety arrangements at large-scale film events. Thousands of students gathered at Malla Reddy University to catch a glimpse of Yash, resulting in overcrowding around the stage.
