After Islam Makhachev defended his welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry during UFC 330 in August, the Ultimate Fighting Championship travels from Philadelphia to Los Angeles for UFC 331. For the main event, Burmese fighter Joshua Van (17-2-0) defends his flyweight title belt against Brazilian Alexandre Pantoja (30-6-0) in a marquee match. It’s scheduled for five rounds.
On Saturday, Sept. 19, UFC 331: Van vs. Pantoja takes place at Crypto.com Arena in L.A., California. The event starts at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, while the main card is set to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
In late 2025, Joshua Van defeated Alexandre Pantoja in 26 seconds to win the UFC Flyweight Championship belt during UFC 323. Van has reigned as champion for nearly a year, while Pantoja worked to get back into the octagon to reclaim the title. However, Van is the odds on favorite to defend his belt, but Pantoja isn’t going to make it easy for him. Pantoja is healthy and eager to win back the crown.
And since UFC 331 is a high profile event in L.A., it’s likely the MMA event may feature a few of celebrities in attendance, such as Shane Gillis, Anthony Kiedis, Chris Pratt, Shaquille O’Neal and others.
