Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shared glimpses from her baby shower ceremony held at the Isha Foundation.
The actress, who is expecting her first child with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, posted pictures and videos from the intimate ceremony and explained the meaning behind the traditional rituals.
Samantha said she has always respected Indian traditions, even when she did not fully understand every ritual. She added that the priest, a Srividya Upaasaka, explained each step and helped her understand its deeper significance.
One of the important rituals performed was Kalaa Aavarana, also known as Sri Kalpam. According to Samantha, the ritual honours the 94 kalas of Devi and focuses on cleansing and energising the seven chakras of the mother-to-be.
She said what moved her most was the way the ritual honours the pregnant woman as Devi herself — as the sacred creator through whom another life is taking shape.
After the abhishekam, Samantha was seated at the centre of the Sri Chakra Yantram, while Devi Khadgamaala was recited to invoke blessings and protection for both mother and child.
Reflecting on the experience, Samantha said she went into the ceremony knowing very little about it, but came away feeling deeply blessed and protected.
She also thanked Shilpa Reddy for giving her the opportunity to experience the ceremony.
Among the pictures shared by Samantha was one with Raj Nidimoru standing beside her, which quickly caught the attention of fans.
Samantha and Raj are expecting their first child in December. The couple married in December 2025 and are now preparing to welcome their baby.
