War between Prabhas and Allu Arjun for Pan India crown. Pan India crown has become the most coveted crown ever since Prabhas created a sensation with his magnum opus Baahubali. From then on Prabhas has been proving his star power despite average flicks.
His films after Baahubali, like Aadi Purush, Radhe Shyam, The Raja Saab failed to set the screens on fire , but with Kalki 2898AD and Salaar he proved his stardom. Even the disaster talk films got record openings on the first day.
Now, many say war is intensifying with Allu Arjun joining the race. Already he created a sensation with Pushpa franchise and is now busy with Raaka with Atlee and his next is locked with Lokesh Kanagaraj. Prabhas has sequels to Salaar and Kalki 2898AD and also Fauzi with Hanu Raghavapudi and Spirit with Sandeep Vanga.
Sandeep Vanga says “Prabhas has Baahubali, Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD behind him. These films established him as a genuine pan-India star and showed that he can command huge numbers across markets. His rise has been remarkable. The fact that he is being compared with the biggest Bollywood stars itself shows how far he has come.”
He added “Allu Arjun has connected strongly with the Hindi audience through his performance, attitude and dancing. Pushpa gave him a different kind of following. His next film Raaka, which is being directed by Atlee, is also highly anticipated because of the director’s track record with Jawan. If the film works, Allu Arjun’s market could grow even further.
He says “Prabhas has had a setback with The Raja Saab, so Fauzi and Spirit become very important. He needs consecutive successes to maintain his position at the top. Ultimately, box-office performance is the biggest yardstick when it comes to deciding who is truly a pan-India star.”
He concluded, “While Prabhas has already achieved massive recognition across India, Allu Arjun has an opportunity to strengthen his position further by choosing the right Bollywood project. His image and popularity give him a strong base, but the script and director will be crucial if he wants to compete directly with the biggest Hindi stars.”
