Watch Reb Fountain’s New Video For ‘Beautiful Lie’

Speaking directly to our turbulent political present, on both personal and global scales, Reb Fountain‘s new album Water for Gasoline is the ten song result of a lightning bolt of artistic inspiration. Laid down in rapid turnaround in Fountain’s garage studio earlier this year, the multi-award-winning Aotearoa songwriter is soon embarking on a spring Water For Gasoline release tour with enhanced band, joined on their travels by Young Moon and Mads Harrop.

Garbed in a vintage wedding gown, Reb Fountain’s video for myth-refuting album standout ‘Beautiful Lie‘ is the latest in a long-running creative partnership with her daughter, director and cinematographer Lola Fountain-Best. A sapphire-toned rural apparition made with support from NZ On Air, shot on Super 8 film amidst the cows of Matiu Kauri Grove, be enchanted by Fountain’s ‘Beautiful Lie’ and head along to the following dates…

“The stories that we tell ourselves, that we want so badly to believe in but aren’t true, make for the hardest fall.”
